The TATE Britain & Dinner in Chelsea

Saturday, 30 August 2014

I went to London for the day last week to see my brother before he flies to Indonesia for his travels and to meet up with my mum as I haven't seen them in forever.
We were clearly all feeling camera shy as we have no pictures of each other to remember the day which is bait annoying however I hope you like the ones I have put up.
I didn't get to snappy happy as I was enjoying spending time with my family.
We spent the morning wondering around the TATE Britain which was really cool & I now actually feel motivated for my sat year of university. We went to their special exhibition called ' Folk Art' which is a no photo zone but definitely worth a visit. It's a collection of art and artefacts that inspire artists through all different time periods. My favourite was the coastal painting my Alfred Wallis. They are created on washed up pieces of card and board from the sea and his brush strokes really capture the British coast.
We then took a long stroll into Chelsea and shopping on the Kings Road before settling down for some food at Ottolenghi's Deli which is amazing if your ever in Chelsea.
They have a fantastic range of cakes and salads and the option to add different meats it you need something extra filling.
I have a selection of three salads followed by flour less polenta cake which was all amazing and I could eat it over and over again.
I then headed into Knightsbridge wondered around Harrods before getting the train home to Norwich.
It was really lovely relaxed day.

A Night at the Races with Peter Andre

Tuesday, 26 August 2014

( left the washing out oops )

Over the bank holiday weekend I was treated to a day and evening at Newmarket races with Tom. We had a great time betting on the horses ( sadly none of us won ) and loved all the food outlets and even drank Pims on tap.
Peter Andre was amazing live, not only dashingly handsome but what a voice ! His new album ( Big Night available on iTunes ) is really sophisticated with blues tracks and a soulful rhythm throughout the tracks inspired by his recent holiday to new orleans.
We both had a great night however I was disappointed that he didn't choose me to go up on the stage for mysterious girl ! Nevermind theres always next time !

What I wore:

Dress - Oh My Love from ASOS

Necklace - River Island

Shoes - Primark

DOVE Invisible Dry Deodorant

Nobody wants to have smelly pits in this summer heat so it is imperative everyone should use a good deodorant. I am loving DOVE's invisible dry, not only are the new compressed bottle size perfect for your handbag this deodorant doesn't leave marks on any colour clothes. So totally fool proof. It also smells really fresh and clean leaving you feel refreshed from morning to night.
I was lucky enough to win this bottle in a recent competition they held online. But you can buy DOVE at all good chemists and most supermarkets.
RRP £3.79.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Moisturiser

It is really important to keep your skin hydrated in the heat and this amazing chocolately moisturiser is the perfect way to stay soft , smooth whilst smelling sweet.
It's quite a thick consistency and makes my skin feel super soft . It doesn't leave you greasy at all and I tend to moisturise at night and by the morning my skin feels amazing.
I have a big bottle but they do a perfect mini version available at Superdrug which is perfect for holidays in the sun.
Price varies but it's about £5.00.

BOOTS False Lashes

I've never been a big fan of false lashes until I found these. I used to think they were too heavy and since I have quite a square face I did look a bit drag queen - esk.
However, fear no more I now can add these amazing volume adding strip lashes which are super easy to apply. They aren't to long and have even lash length so you get an overall glamorous effect with the lashes.

KMS California Tame Frizz Conditioner

I recently went and had my hair trimmed and I couldn't resist this conditioner ( I was out anyway so it seemed apt that I bought one there right?) . I hadn't heard of KMS California but now I have I am definitely sticking with them. It leaves my hair really smooth and hydrated and smelling like I have just walked out of a salon. You know that rich luxury salon smell ... that in a bottle.
It is a little more pricey than high street conditioners at £13.50 but really worth it if you want that salon quality.

BOBBI BROWN Brightening Finishing Powder

I'm always on the hunt for products that give you a healthy glow / dewy skin effect. I came across this finishing powder which works wonders. It gives you a real glow and dewy effect without covering you in glitter or creating a greasy texture as it's a powder.
I bought this in the shade 'nudes' and it can be applied to tanned or fair skin which makes it a great all year round product.
Since I bought this product a day hasn't gone past that I haven't used it! I love it and well worth the expense.

Dior Extase Mascara

I'm always impressed with Dior but when I found this mascara I was really excited. The wand is different t any mascara I have used before ( its think then thick then thin ... ) . It goes amazing volume without clumping or flaking off.
It lasts all day and no need to re apply at all. Although it's an expensive purchase it lasts and lasts.
I purchased it in the colour Black.

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan

I have worn fake tan since I was 13 and have tried and tested pretty much every brand out there. But this has to be the best tan I've ever used. It a natural colour , works fast , smells fantastic and has an affordable price tag. Applied with a mitt it leaves an even natural tan that lasts up to 7 days.
I am addicted ! I will be doing a post soley on this tanning range to show you just how good the results are.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

Elizabeth Arden is my go to skincare range. All there products are great for young skin and are of a really nice quality.
This eight hour cream is a multi use cream for burns , dry skin , scratches. I pretty much use it for everything . It has a really soothing formulae and is brilliant for sun burn over the summer months . ( Please make sure you prevent sunburn by wearing a high SPF ) But if you are unfortunate enough to still get burnt this is an amazing product to sooth and ease the pain.
Available at Debenhams or House of Fraser.
